I am always looking for good new music. I love finding that new song that really gets you shaking your butt while doing the dishes. I clean better, fold laundry better, and cook better when I have a good CD playing, but I also have a higher tendency to mess up my recipes while I am movin' and a groovin' to the latest toons... but I still can't help it.
So, hopefully this new list of music will continue to help increase your music knowledge.
I Got You Babe - UB40
Say - John Mayer
Hung Up - Madonna
I'm Yours - Jason Mraz
Grace Kelly - MIKA
See You Again - Miley Cyrus ( okay I am a little embarrassed by this one, but I can't help it... it is sooo catchy... even my hubby likes it!)
I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - Scissor Sisters
Viva La Vida - Coldplay
Let It Be Sung - Jack Johnson & Matt Costa
Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis
Hips Don't Lie (feat. Wyclef Jean) - Shakira
Okay, so maybe not all of them are rock sessions, but they are either catchy mellow or peppy fun! Enjoy

I listen to more anti-social stuff, but you're right. Life is just better with music. I have music on almost all the time in the house. It's almost like I'm afraid of silence.
ReplyDeleteOk, like 3 of those songs are some of my current favorites. Good call.
ReplyDeleteYou made me want to pull out my John Mayer now.
ReplyDeleteMy favs right now are
Believe-The Bravery, Shake it-Metro Station, and Daughter-Loudon Wainwright(make my cry everytime)
we hear wayyyy too much Miley in this house for me to voluntarily play her ;) I am loving that new Coldplay song and the rest of the list rocks :)
ReplyDeleteI love having music on all the time too!
After reading a review and listening to samples online, I picked up the CD "Ta-Dah" by Scissor Sisters a few years ago. "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" is my favorite tune on the album. Some of the songs by Miley/Hannah are catchy as hell; I love "Nobody's Perfect"!
ReplyDeletegood picks! you have 2 of my fave artists on there: john mayer and jason mraz! i loved jason mraz live!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have the same taste! In music!!!
ReplyDeletelike these songs, i am begging people to help me create a playlist for this summer...gonna steal some of these.
ReplyDeleteGrace Kelly by MIKA is one of my favorite songs!!
ReplyDeleteI love your list! We have lots of similar music tastes. I also can't get enough of Grace Kelly (Mika). I love the Queen I hear in it :)
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of Joshua Radin? I'm a Mayer/Mraz fan and I love his music. If you have iTunes, he has a new single out called "Sky," and a lot of his stuff has been on Scrubs :).
ReplyDeleteI like to hear UB40 as well
ReplyDeleteMine in here Thanks
I like I Got You Babe. My tween girls play Miley Cyrus a lot.
ReplyDeletei love mika! grace kelly is such a happy happy song
ReplyDeleteI'm also an embarrassed appreciator of that Miley Cyrus song - it's too catchy not to like it!
ReplyDeleteI must live under a rock because I only know a few of those. We never listen to the radio unfortunately, but when we do its always 80's cause we love us some 80's music!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently stuck on Leona Lewis too. Bleeding Love plays almost daily in my car...
ReplyDeleteI like most of these songs. Thanks for reminding me I need to buy them to put on my IPOD for my own kitchen cleanups.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I love having music on, ALL the time. But if I really want to clean, fold laundry, etc. - you get it, haha - music is the way to get it done! :)
ReplyDeleteJust wait until your kids are old enough that they think THEY should be able to choose the music. I do let them but I reserve veto power. Unfortunately, sometimes that results in my feeling like an absolute tyrant. "No! Not that. I can't stand that. You think that's music? That's not music!!!" Love it when John's home and I get some support. (Only problem is that John is so far the other way that he doesn't think ANY popular music is worth listening to.)
ReplyDeleteGrace Kelly is a good song!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat list. Some of my faves were in there, but on the top of my list is Bleeding Love.
ReplyDeleteI love "say" by john mayer... annnnnd totally also digging Viva La Vida. Speaking of which we just got our tickets to Coldplay's Summer tour... YEAH baby!!!!! :) Here's another good one for you:
ReplyDeleteHow We Operate by Gomez. So fantastic!
I like Miley's song too, but I can use the excuse "I have an 8yr old daughter who loves Hannah Montana."
ReplyDelete:P
That is a great list! All very different from each other.
ReplyDeletethere is a one by Leona Lewis that is good too. I like David cook, Jordan Sparks, Jsoh groban, Bangles ( i know old school :) ) just some more ideas for ya
ReplyDelete*new song by Leona Lewis* my typing leaves a lot out.. I think its because my brain is working so fast my hands can't keep up (thats what I tell myself at least)
ReplyDeleteHave you heard Miley's newest "7 things"??? We're Miley fans here too! :o)
ReplyDeleteWe definitely have a lot of the same taste in music. And, I feel exactly the same way about Miley's song, but you just can't help but sing along when it comes on the radio!
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing at the Miley one ... I have to say that I agree with you. It is catchy. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE music!! Have a great Thursday!!
ReplyDeleteI could be brown
ReplyDeleteI could be blue
I could be viooooooooolet sky
Oh, how I heart MIKA.
I'm the same way about music. Listening will keep me working longer.
ReplyDeletesounds like a good list! I'm off to check youtube for the matt costa and jack johnson one. I LOVE LOVE LOVE "Lullaby" that they did together...
ReplyDeleteOhhh..Jack Johnson is HEAVEN to my ears!!
ReplyDeleteI love music...and always have to have something upbeat on. Great list! And the three of you are such a handsome family...hope things are going well!
ReplyDeleteI actually think Miley Cyrus is very talented. I don't really listen to her, but her voice is very nice. :)
ReplyDeleteHips Don't Lie ROCKS. That song always puts me in a good mood. I had a friend who used it as her ring tone. lol
ReplyDeleteI have really liked the Bleeding Love song, too.
ReplyDeletea dear friend from the UK mailed me the MIKA cd a few months ago. I absolutely adore it, and it's so different than my typical music collection!
ReplyDeleteI will have to give some of these a listen.
ReplyDeleteI am usually forced to listen to something from Kidz Bop or Preschool Pops!
How did this happen?
