Organizing Clothes

My child is almost a year and a half, but I still don't feel like I have a handle on everything. I still find myself underestimating how long it takes to get us all out the door, how much stuff to pack in my diaper bag, how many socks Lucy will go through and how much time I will spend looking for a matching top. But hey, at least now I can cross one of those off.

I have finally found a way to keep my kids clothes organized and not just organized, but sooooo organized that even my husband can find something for Lucy to wear and I can guarantee that it will coordinate!

I was over at Target and was checking out some tubs to help organize my crafting supplies and stumbled across some hanging closet shoe organizers, which gave me a great idea. I bought one and used it for Lucy's clothes. Every compartment can easily hold one outfit, complete with socks, hair bows, and shoes.

It is great, I don't have to think about what will go with what, where are her socks, and do I have a clean onesie? All I do is grab! It has been a life saver and helps me keep my house more organized, which is something that I always need.

You can get these organizers at any Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, or Bed Bath and Beyond and you can find them for about 19.99.

P.S Congrats to Beth at A Mom's Life for winning the Shopping List giveaway! Everyone give Beth a big congrats!

Well everyone, we have three winners out there and here they are...

2. Andrea Marley
&
3. Ms. Quitecontrary1977 from Now Entering Momville

I hope you all enjoy your free Bagel-fuls. Now, you just need to email me at motherhoodfordummies@hotmail.com so I can get an address to send them to you. Congrats you all!

P.S. This posting for Family Moment Monday is getting sent back till next Monday, I would love to have some amazing excuse of that I was busy saving a burning bus filled with nuns that was heading to crash into a orphanage filled with blind children and that is why I couldn't get my post up and finished.... but um.... yea... not so much. My husband and I maaaaaaay have been over at my sister's house playing Catan and chatting till midnight :) Soooooo...... I may or may not have gotten around to getting my post finished. So, please please forgive me. But I am still going to post Mr. Linky here for all of you out there that have been good enough to do F.F.M.

But I am going to sit down this week and try to get a banner made for F.F.M. and the rules and guidelines all put together; also, a post deadline for me, so all of you out there know when I am going to have Mr. Linky so you can post your links. Always let me know if you have any questions or want to be put on the reminder email list. Thanks!

A We Bit o' Food For Ya Lassie!

In spirits of St. Patrick's Day that is coming up this Monday, I am going to post a holiday meal, which just happens to be my favorite!

CORN BEEF & CABBAGE
Oh I love it, this is seriously my favorite thing to eat and one of my favorite things to make. All you need to get is...

-Corn Beef
-Ginger Ale
-Cabbage

Simply buy any size corn beef you want. Remember that they shrink a lot, so get one that looks bigger than what you normally would want.

Open the beef and place it fat side up, then pour the ginger ale over it till the dish is about half full, then place the seasonings (if given with the corn beef you bought) on top of the meat. Then cut up your cabbage and place as much as you want in the left over space, you can seriously PACK IT IN. Simply cover with tin foil and put in the oven for the amount of time and degree that the instructions state.

It will come out soooo tender and juicy. It is best cut against the grain always. So remember this wonderful recipe on the mornin' of your St. Patrick's Day lassies! Corn beef, ginger ale, pour, sprinkle, cook!
.
Also the winner of this weeks give-away is blogger Janet from Adventures in the 32-Aker Wood. Congratulations Janet and I hope you love your Alaskan Ulu!

Costume Party!

My husband and I were coming home from my sister Carinne's house the other night. We had just gotten done getting our butts handed to us while playing Catan. But even though we lost, we both were in real good moods. We were talking about how even though my parents have moved to India for the next few years and we miss them, it has really brought us siblings together in a new way.

Me - "That was really fun tonight, I have loved hanging out with them and getting to know them more."

Curtis - "Yea, they're all fun, I'm glad we have moved here."

Me - "Even though I can't wait for mom and dad to come home, having them gone has been kind of a blessing, helping us getting to know the other siblings better. With them being gone we hang out a lot more with the brothers and sisters then we use to."

Curtis - "Well, then we better hurry up and get our disguises"

Me - Ehh? Disguises?

Curtis - "Well, yea...we are going to need disguises for the whole blessing in disguise situation that is going on. Duh!?

Please feel free to insert your cheesy chuckle here, I know I did!

And for all of you that have been waiting for the winner of the give-away, we have picked the winner. Or I should say...we let Lucy pick the winner! The winner is.........

Michelle Richards from http://therichardses.blogspot.com/ . She actually is a friend of Curtis and I. We know her from back in Provo, UT. She lived in the same apartment complex that we lived in where Curtis and I first met. So here is a slice of Michelle...

"I'm from Toronto, Canada via England, so I talk rather strangely. A nice blend of British, Canadian, and American accent. My husband, Brandon, is from Moscow...Idaho (I still think it's funny to just leave it at Moscow). We've been married for just over a year and a half, met almost 3 years ago living in the same complex. I liked him from the start, but he didn't realize he liked me back until I was dating someone else...someone younger who was more muscular, but I went for funny rather than muscles.

I graduated with my BA in Advertising, he graduates with a BS in Exercise Science next month and he's just been accepted to Physical Therapy school in Las Vegas, where I will most likely become a showgirl or professional hustler, I'll keep you posted of that. (For those of you who may not know me, I'm actually quite an honest individual and the closest I'll ever get to professional hustling will be playing Solitaire in my cubicle at your average, everyday desk job).

Just some firsts for me: I just donated 12 inches of my hair for the very first time and I am not adjusting well; being English, I just saw the "American classic" Back to the Future & Indiana Jones trilogies for the first time last year, and I don't recall ever winning anything of consequence before, so I am thrilled! THANKS MELISSA!"

Congrats Michelle! And for all of you that didn't win, I will be doing another give-away this Wednesday...what can I say...I am totally lovin' these give-aways!
