Family Questionnaire

Family Moment Monday
Families live together, eat together, and playing together, but can still not know THAT much about each other. It can be amazing to think that some brother and sisters don't know who each others best friends are, or dad doesn't know his daughter is into soccer, or mother is clueless that son wants to join the scouts. With all of our busy lives and many obligations this can happen; happen fast and happen easily.

The best way to help keep each other connected and up to date with the on-goings of every one's life is to simply ask, and ask constantly, cause things change.... especially with teenage girls... because I don't know about you, but there seems to always be something new with them every week.

A fun way to keep updated is to have the family play a questionnaire game. Type up a listen of questions that will later be printed off and handed out to everyone in the family. Ask questions like...

What is your favorite food?
What is your most embarrassing moment?
What do you want to be when you grow up?
What is your favorite movie?
Who is your best friend?
If you could have any pet what would it be?

Go ahead and get silly with odd questions like...

If you could only eat one thing forever what would it be?
Of all the super powers, which one would you want?
If you could meet anyone in the world who would you like to meet?

Once you have all the questions listed, printed off, handed out and filled, you can then start cutting out each question. When all the questions have been cut/separated, put them into a bowl and start picking ones to read out loud. Then everyone in the family gets to guess who's answer it was. Then give that person a moment to explain why grilled cheese is their favorite food, or why they have always wanted a dolphin as a pet, why their dream is to become a synchronised swimmer.

This is a fun way to see how well you all know each other, plus gives each child, or parent, a time to share their thoughts, dreams, or ideas with the people they care about most. So have fun getting to know the family and thinking up questions.

P.S. If you are participating in Family Moment Monday (F.M.M.) then don't forget to add your website to Mr. Linky below. Also please have a link from your F.M.M. post back to this website so others can learn about it and we can get more people to join in; sooo there is more fun for all! :).

    3. If I could be invisible, I would. . .

What a great idea. This will be great when the kids are older. My new site is up: anglophilefootballfanatic.com

  5. Oh, I love that idea! Perfect to do around the dinner table every night.
    Good one!

  6. THis is a GREAT idea. Thank you.

  7. Love the questionnaire idea. Yes. I can see it really livening up the dinner table. (I posted a FMM).

  8. What fun ideas. Thanks for sharing!

  9. That's a great idea. I can't wait until my daughter is a little older so we can have conversations like this. I always want to know what is going on with her - and any future kids we may have! I LOVE family time!

  10. This is a great idea! My parents grilled us for this information every.single.night at the dinner table. Now I do it to my girls.

  11. Chris said Curtis' phone # isn't working. Have Curtis call him. :) Thanks

  12. love this idea.

i can't wait till beans is old enough to "share" at the table.

  13. We do try to get together as a family as much as we can. Our children are still small that we can do that. I am sure once they get older it'll be harder to keep them home.
Great blog. Thanks for stopping by.

  14. Excellent post. My kiddos are still very young, but it is important to start early. I love the conversations my daughter and I have about her imaginary friends, the Little Gym, and her other favorite things. I think that by fostering a relationship of caring and listening now that she'll be more confident to share things with me when she's older.

  15. Great idea!
    Thanks for sharing!
I will be busy quizzing and questioning all week! (LOL)

  16. Thanks for the fun idea, my kids might not be old enough now, but like they say... they will soon enough. cheers

  17. Great idea, I'm definitely going to try this one with my kids. I was going to post a Family Moment today but other things happened, so I'll say it for next Monday.

  18. Very cool idea!

There's also a "game" through the SimplyFun game company called Let's Chat, and it's a big ring full of cards (which you could easily toss in your purse) with topics/questions on them to get conversations started with friends/family. We've used them a few times with the moms at my daughter's dance class, as a way to pass the time while the girls are dancing and as a way to open up a line of communication and friendship amongst us moms.

I love the little tips and recipes you post up. Keep up the great work!

  19. My most embarrassing moments require a stack of index cards in alphabetical and chronological order. But still a great list of questions!

  20. Great idea. I think I may have to try this. Thanks for stopping by mine.

  21. Shoot, I forgot about Monday family Moments. darnit. I keep wanting to do this!!

I like the questionnaire idea is great. I've been doing that some by asking the boys questions for my blog posts...and I do learn more about them every time we do it. It's fun!

  22. ...please where can I buy a unicorn?
