I find it very important that everyone eats 3 meals a day, especially breakfast, but in this house the hubby is always skipping out on breakfast and it drives me crazy. So, basically he sleeps all night, gets ready and runs out the door, then he doesn't come home till 1 in the afternoon for lunch... so great,.... he has now gone over 12 hours with no food! Seriously, how is that okay?! What I find really crazy about this, is it isn't just my husband. I see many friends, family members, and children that run out the door with no breakfast. I just want to run after them throwing scrambled eggs at them hoping that they will eat whatever sticks to them. But for every problem, there is a solution and those have been... Bagel-fuls.
Kraft is selling a fluffy bagel that's comes with Philadelphia cream cheese filling. Okay, I know what some of you are thinking, "Not another prepackaged no-bake food." That is what I thought when I first heard of these. Personally, I kind of get tired and irritated with all the no bake foods... like the cereal breakfast bar; its a bar made out of cereal bits and what claims to be a solid milk filling, um... can we all say ewwww! Lets just say, if you don't have time for a sit down breakfast, I am more of a yogurt and fruit person.
.
.
When we first got them, I was expecting them to be alright, probably not great, and lacking in the cream cheese area, but I was surprised. They were fairly tasty and had just the RIGHT amount of cream cheese filling. With flavors coming in Original Plain, Strawberry, Cinnamon & Brown Sugar, Chive and Whole Grain, you are bound to find a flavor you like.... I was a HUGE fan of the Cinnamon, and Hubby ate his weight in Strawberry.
.So, the husband likes, which is great, because now I find him yelling from the kitchen on his way out the door, "Honey... where are the Bagel-fuls?"... he is actually searching for breakfast! Curtis can now eat a healthy quick breakfast most mornings by grabbing a Bagel-ful and a piece of fruit and he is good to go. But besides being good for a quick alternative breakfast, they are great for me because I have sworn off bagels. I know! What crazy person would swear off that heavenly-goodness? Well, ever since I have been trying to loose the baby weight I have been paying more attention to foods that might be shady in their healthly appearance.... one of them those bagels. I love bagels, but unfortunately, depending on what kind and how much cream you put on, you are looking at a bagel being any where from 500 to 800 calories and a good chunk of that is coming from fat! So, I have said good-bye to my bagels and shmear, until Bagel-fuls. Now I can have a bagel that is already proportioned so it doesn't need anymore cream cheese... I can now get my bagel fix and never eat more than 200 calories.
Whether you are looking for some proportioned snack or a fix for a quick breakfast, you might want to give these a try. They are located in the frozen breakfast aisle and can sell from anywhere to $2.40-ish to $2.89-ish. You can find more information on the Kraft website.
.
P.S. I will be hosting a Bagel-ful giveaway and three lucky people will win FREE BAGEL-FULS! So check back on Friday for rules and a chance to win!
I'm not sure I can wrap my head around that idea, but I may have to give them a try. I'm a real bagel and cream cheese fan, so it would sure eliminate part of the process of preparing a meal! LOL
ReplyDeleteI LOVE BAGEL-FULS!! At first I would buy one box just to try them, then I bought another flavor and now I am up to buying 3 boxes at a time. Not because I eat them like a pig, but because as you said, they are a good breakfast or "snack on the go" sort of thing. I love to stick them in the microwave for 30 seconds. Yum-Yum!! Cinnamon and the original are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteBagels are yummy evil. I haven't tried the bagelfuls, but i love me some panera ones.
ReplyDeleteGuilty. I drive Hubby crazy because I don't always eat breakfast. I hate cereal and many breakfast items. I saw the commercials for these and thought they sounded like a good idea but probably wouldn't be as good as they sounded. I think I'll have to try them out! The cinnamon ones sound yummy. I can't promise you I will always eat breakfast though. Bad habits are hard to break.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about these. Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I wake up starving! I don't see how people can't eat breakfast!
ReplyDeleteI've tried these thanks to my sister, and they are surprisingly yummy! I agree that they are better a bit warmed up...the strawberry ones are divine. Super...now I've got the munchies and it's 9:30 at night! ;o)
ReplyDeleteI HAVE to have breakfast. I can skip lunch AND dinner if necessary, as long as I have breakfast. Of course, I don't always choose the healthiest thing. (Pop Tarts anyone?) Those sound right up my alley. And they might be something that my picky 2-year-old would eat as well. His favorite food is Ritz crackers spread with cream cheese.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge believer in breakfast too. Or brunch! lol
ReplyDeletethis is a great find... i've never heard of them. but i am guilty of skipping breakfast so this would be so good for me. AND I am totally a bagel and cc girl. thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've seen magazine ads for these, so it's nice to read that they're actually not gross. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI just bought my first box of Bagelfuls today. I bought the whole grain and had one for a snack this afternoon and it was delicious! I'm with you that a whole bagel with cream cheese is too many calories, but these are perfect and yummy!
ReplyDeletewhere were you today? Must . . . have . . . Lucy . . . fix . . . must . . . have . . .
ReplyDelete♡ I've never heard of these but now that I have I'm going to have to keep my eye out for them! :)
ReplyDeleteThose look good! And healthy! I've never even heard of them. I'll have to check that out. I'll be back Friday for sure!:)
ReplyDeleteNow, why didn't I think of that!? Thanks for the tip. Come see my cell phone alternative:

I have not seen these!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the same way but he does love bagels so maybe he will eat these. My 7 year old never wants to eat breakfast so I to make it one of his morning chores on the other hand my 4 year old won't even have his eyes completely opened and he'll say, "Mom will you make me breakfast." I'm excited to try these!
ReplyDeleteI pretty much have sworn of bagels too since having gestational diabetes and know that my body have a tendency for high blood sugar. Anyhow, thanks for the tip. My husband would probably love them too, he's a bagel fanatic.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of these. This is good to know. I wrote about some packaged foods today too. On the subject of skipping breakfast...I have always wondered about this, ever since I used to skip breakfast in high school and felt fine. If skipping breakfast (I don't do it any more) is bad for you why is it that the people who do it don't feel bad physically? Just wondering.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of these. Maybe I'll win some in your giveaway. :)
ReplyDeletenot gonna lie, i have been scared of these. hubby and i even talked about if they could possibly have the right bagel/cream cheese combo??
ReplyDeleteso i guess now we are going to have to try them. yippeee!! is it dorky that i love trying new things??
and for the record - my husband does the exact same thing!! how can you skip breakfast??
Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering.
I don't have to wonder any more.
I was thinking about trying these, but I just can't bring myself to eat a bagel like that.
ReplyDeleteI love these things! I tried some recently and i'm with you, perfect cream cheese, perfect size...although I could probably eat the whole package. And I don't like how you only get four, but boy they're great!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Lucy and Daddy playing Wii!
ReplyDelete200 calories?!?!?! Are you pulling my leg? I love bagels and have sworn them off for the same reasons you have. Thanks for the info. I'll have to check it out. Or, maybe I'll win the giveaway! ;)
ReplyDeleteP.S.--How did you find my blog?
I am SO the same way. I would never survive without breakfast. Brett often does the same thing and it drives me crazy!
ReplyDeletei saw these in the grocery just yesterday and thought... "Really????!"
ReplyDeleteBut i'll have to take your word and try them. My husband has got to be tired of the cereal bar he grabs on his way out every morning. ;)
Oh, and to answer your question about how i get things done. I don't! My house is always a disaster. And even if i do manage to clean, they just drag it all back out again. So, why bother?! ;)
I have seriously been wondering about those things. I love bagels and growing up there was this restaurant that sold bagel balls which I LOVED. My hubby NEVER eats breakfast either. I always tell the kids that daddy is not making good eating choices. Maybe I should try them! Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteWow, I've seen these things and never looked at the nutritional information because I thought it'd be too bad! But, if they are 200 calories and under, that's not bad at all. I'll have to see if my dad can get me some as he does work for Kraft, SCORE! Thanks for the info :)
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful! I will for sure try these. I am a breakfast person already but something new and different is always good. Now I mainly eat 1 cup of fruit, 1 Whole Wheat English Muffin w/1 Tbs of Peanut Butter...lots of water. These might add a bit of spice to my morning. I love cinnamon too.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Wow, only 200 calories? That makes them sound even more delicious :)
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to try these--I even have a coupon--but the store I shop at hasn't carried them. I'll have to hunt them down.
ReplyDeleteOk, I am having the hardest time ridding myself of the baby fat... but those do sound SO GOOD!!!
ReplyDeleteI bet my little ones would love them as well. I think we'll give them a try!
My husband is the same way! I'll have to get some and see if he likes them. He's a lover of all things pre-packaged, so I'm sure he will enjoy them on some level. Though, he's one of those bottomless pits, so he may just end up eating the entire box for one breakfast. Worth a shot though, hm? :o)
ReplyDeleteI don't normally like this type of prepackaged food (like you said in your post) but I might consider buying these simply because Mouse (my 5 yr old) loves bagels and cream cheese and it would be handy to have them around for those moments when we need something on the fly (she is always saying 'i'm hungry' as we are leaving the house). Also, I find kids love to eat stuff that is prepackaged...dont' know why.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try them - I got a free coupon to try them and am waiting for it to arrive!
ReplyDelete...might have to walk down that part of the freezer aisle...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I ran out to buy them last night and I am hooked already!!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://chele76.blogspot.com/2008/06/i-read-about-these-yesterday-on.html
OK, so I just wanted to say that this post made me so excited about bagelfulls that I was eager to buy some and try it out. I went to BJs yesterday and searched for some but couldn't find any. :-( Guess I'll check other grocery stores! Thanks again for the tip. I'm trying!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this great tip! I haven't seen them out here in Arizona, but now the hunt will be half the fun!
ReplyDeletewe've tried these too, but only the plain ones. I didn't realize they had cinnamon...that would probably be right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
