My husband and I have finally hopped on the Netflicks band-wagon. The house we are living in right now does not have cable and our boxes are nowhere near arriving. We saw a free trail offer for Netflicks and so we figured why not. I guess we also had the option of maybe reading more and picking up some more hobbies, but we didn't, we went the lazier route :)
Netflicks has this option where it will give you a suggestion of movies you might like based upon movies that you have rated, so to help them know your viewing pleasured. But the only problem with this, at least for us, was that we had seen most of the movies that they had suggested. So we were on a hunt for some fun new movies. And this is where we pass the help on to you all.
We just rented a cute little movie called "Miss. Potter" which is the true story of Beatrix Potter the author and illustrator of the childrens book Peter Cottontail. I hadn't really heard anything about it, but it happened to be a pleasant surprise. We were in the mood for just a simple, feel good movie and it was. All we were missing was a warm cup of coco for the evening to help the warm and fuzzies.....yea yea...I know! I need to get over missing my Hot Chocolate Maker, but I only have a month or so left of hot chocolate season and it is slowly ticking away.
So if you happen to be a fan of Sense and Sensibility, Emma, or any other Jane Austinish movies filled with cute witty lines, I think you might enjoy this little flick.

We have been talking about getting netflix ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of that movie I may need to check it out.
My mom introduced "Miss Potter" to me when she came to help out just after Garrett was born (we did a lot of movie watching in those newborn days). We LOVED it! Such a great film. I'm glad you also enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteHi, I work for an international discussion programme on BBC World Service radio called World Have Your Say and came across your blog while searching on the Internet. Today (Wednesday) we are talking about the issue of whether its acceptable for women to admit that they don't find everything about motherhood positive, and were wondering if you would be interested in taking part in the discussion. We are on air from 6pm to 7pm London time (1pm to 2pm East Coast time in the States). If you are interested, please send me your phone numbers to martin.vennard@bbc.co.uk and I will call you to confirm the arrangements or call me on 011442075570635 and I will call you straight back.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks
Martin Vennard
I think that you should check out this website. They have codes (approved by Redbox) that get you a free rental. I may have given you this already, but it's saved us lots of dollars.
ReplyDeleteWe just jumped on that particular bandwagon too. We're getting series, though, that we've never seen before. So far we've got Jeeves and Wooster, Brother Cadfael and Seinfeld. (Yeah, I know, I'm probably one of the few people in civilized world that didn't watch that as a teen.)
ReplyDeleteI love Netflix!! I will have to add that movie to my queue. It has a fun buddy feature so you can see what your friends are getting. If you want to add me use this email address: lissa2061 AT yahoo DOT com
ReplyDeleteI think I may just try Netflix. It just sounds so easy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up! Sounds interesting!
ReplyDelete♥ I really liked Miss Potter too! Very good show!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen Game Plan? The little girl they have play in there is SOO dang cute. It's very funny and I don't remember a single swear word or anything! :)
Enjoy your Netflix! We use Blockbuster opnline and it is great! I got the BabyLegs at Target Online. Also check out http://www.babylegs.net/
ReplyDeleteOh yes I want to rent Miss Potter! We belong to Blockbuster.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip and use I will be drinking my SWISS MISS coffee while watching it!
I love Netflix. We have been doing it for a few months and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI can't even tell you how much I love Netflix. It really is quite an addiction. I don't even go to the movies anymore. For myself and my bf to go to the movies over here it's about $30 for two of us (and that's with us bringing outside snacks into the theatre). Way too much.
ReplyDeleteWe just got my father in law netflix for his bday! They love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the movie tip. That sounds like one that I might like. I found your blog through Scribbit. I'm glad you do a blog too. It's fun to see what you're up to. Lucy is such a doll! (This is Page formerly Christian)
ReplyDeleteI would die without Netflix!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation.
Don't rent "Breach" unless you want to be bored to tears, although based on a true story and the eye-candy that is Ryan Phillippe, it put me to sleep - which is not an easy task! :)
