Chocolate Melting Pot or Fondue Pot

WFMW
If you haven't been able to tell from other previous posts..... I love kitchen gadgets. I really do. I love how they can make jobs simpler, cooking faster, and I find I really just love cooking more when there are fun little gizmos to keep me entertained.

My latest phase right now has been my Wilton Chocolate Warmer. I have been in love with it. Mainly because I don't know how many times I have tried to melt chocolate chips in the microwave and as simple as that sounds....I fry em'! I apparently don't even have the skills of a hot summer's day. My poor husband has come home, many times, just to find me either crying or swearing at my messed up recipe.

So I finally looked around and checked out prices and found a nice little warmer. I got it over at Joanne's, I did wait until I got a 40% off coupon and then bought it. Because of the coupon, in the end it only cost me about 16 bucks.... which I am okay with, since I have already spent that much on ruined chocolate.

You might be asking yourself, "Do I really need a chocolate melter?" Oh my friend, the answer to that questions is a big fat "YES". Not only is this baby great for obvious reasons, like making chocolate covered strawberries, but you can make and store chocolate covered pretzels, home made truffles, and even use it as a fondue pot for cheese or chocolate. These treats are not only tasty, but fun to have around and entertaining to make. They make great gifts too. I just finished making some home made truffles as a "thank you" to a friend for helping me. Granted, a bit of them never made it to my friend (We may have eaten a few) Because of the melting pot they were really easy to put together, plus helping the truffles have a nice professional look.
And is it wrong to admit that I felt pretty cool dropping off from-scratch home made truffles, because, honestly, who doesn't want truffles? :)

I think I might need one just so I can eat all of the items on the list.

    Again, fabulous job!

  2. I feel bad even reading this post after I just entered a giveaway writing my tips for losing weight on another post. Both of you are speaking to my heart, though, which could explain my yo-yo problem.

    KEEP BELIEVING

  6. Yum! I'm all about dipping things in chocolate!

  7. You forgot one of the best things to dip, marshmellows. My kids love the big marshmellows dipped in either milk chocolate or white chocolate. Plus they make a really easy snack to take for school parties.

I make a ton of stuff with melted chocolate a Christmas time. All the teachers get homemade candy and goodies for Christmas presents.

  8. See my problem is I get sucked into the gadget thing . . . I think "This is GREAT! It's going to save me so much time!" Then I buy it, and promptly decide it's too much effort to clean it . . . and then it ends up neglected on the shelf. *sigh*

  9. We've got a great fondue pot and LOVE it. I'm trying not to eat as much sugar right now, but next month I'm gonna have to have some chocolate dipped strawberries. Yum!

  10. I too have fried more than one batch of chocolate chips in the microwave. I might have to give one of these a try. I love pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate with sprinkles.

  17. You are truly evil! Trying to corrupt me with your chocolate temptations. I. Will. Not. Buy. One. Must not. Cannot. Oh, that looks so yummy.

This was my favorite line in your entire post: "I apparently don't even have the skills of a hot summer's day."

    I love it!!!

  19. I LOVE THIS. I have been eyeing it and wondering if I really need it. I think that I do. I mean just the Christmas gift season alone it would save me a ton of headache and grief. (dipping all of those chips and pretzels over a hot stove with a Toddler is NO FUN AT ALL.) But I am scared that if I come home with one more gadget hubby might loose it...I wonder if it will fit under the bed...

    LOL

  24. You're making my hungry!
Thanks for stopping by yesterday. My daughter didn't get hair until she was 2 1/2. Now she has a head of full, thick, beautiful hair. She's the only one that was bald for so long. I think the longer it takes for the hair to come in the more beautiful it is!! Get some detangler!!! Lots of it!!!!

  25. Hmmmmmmm! I may have to get me one of those! I have a fondue pot with the flame under it and it fries the chocolate every time. It just doesn't work! Thanks for the info!

  26. One of my daughters is allergic to chocolate or I would be all over this! She is seriously allergic to it... gets deathly sick when she eats chocolate.

  27. I made a lot of choc. covered pretzels (large and small) at Christmas - my family loves them. I could use this gadget - I melted the choc. on the stove.

Have a good evening - see you soon - Kellan

  35. I have one too and I love it!! Even better, I received it as a gift so I didn't even have to pay for it!

Thanks for posting----it reminded me that I left my choc pot at my MIL's last weekend. We had a fondue party for my husband's birthday.

  40. I have a chocolate melter!!! I do!!! I haven't used it . . . YET. You've inspired me!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I have a double boiler that works really well. I also have a Pampered Chef microwaveable pot that does really well with chocolate chips.

We're big fans of chocolate-dipped anything in this house! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  42. $16 isn't bad at all, but my husband would probably kill me as it would spend most of it's time in the basement next to the breadmaker!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Don't forget these dippers:
    Cheesecake squares
potato chips (I dare you. They are really good)
    Grasshoppers (Or so I hear)
    gummy bears or worms
    candied fruit peel
    marshmallows
    nuts
    and your fingers
    Mmmmmm

    Now I'm hungry
