Da German Pancakes

I love getting up in the morning and having a good breakfast. And I don't mean no stickin' cereal or bagel and smear, but a really yummy serious breakfast. Waffles, crepes, pig in a blanket, or a really good omelet. Ohhh the possibilities. But sometimes... as good as those all are... some of those yummy breakfastes weight me down in the morning and are too heavy for me. Which is why we have breakfast for dinner a lot.... Brinner as we so fondly call it.
.
But even with all those good breakfast meals out there... there is one delicious, tasty, light breakfast I can always turn too.... German Pancakes or as some of you call them Dutch Babies. They are such an easy fix in the morning, so delicious, and filling yet light. So if your mouths are starting to water right about now then here is what you need to know...
.
6 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 TBS butter or margarine, melted

1. Place the eggs, milk, flour and salt in a bowl and mix very well until smooth. Take melted butter and pour into a 13x9 pan ungreased pan. Add the batter.
2. Put the pan in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 mins.
3. Dust pancake with confectioners sugar and serve immediately. Best served with either syrup, lemon juice, or pie filling.

These are really easy, tasty, and not bad for you. Even if you ate a half a pan by you self you would only be about 3 egss, 1/2 cup milk, and some butter. Not too shabby... and that is for half a pan :)
p.s. Last time I made these I thought they could have use a little bit more salt.

Thanks for stopping by my recipe blog and commenting! I have a public blog and a private one too. My public blog is hotmamashouse dot blogspot dot com (it's been a little neglected this week, because we've been way busy with end of school events), but stop by :) I love making new blog friends!

  6. I just posted on pancakes, too :) I found a version on Make and Take that makes pop up and fruit filled pancakes. Can't wait to try them this weekend. And pancakes are such a fun family, lazy morning thing.
