FAMILY MOMENT MONDAY
My family likes food, we do. If you walk into my parent's house there is usually some kind of bowl with goodies out, cookies probably made in the jar, and my mother will always ofter food probably with second helpings. At family gatherings we bring food and a lot of it. Even when Curtis and I get together and plan a fun evening, it usually involves ... you guessed it food, we usually try to treat ourselves. So, you can imagine when we have fun food nights that they are a blast.
A way you can enjoy a evening as a family is to have a bake-off. Get together and have everyone make their own goodies, then everyone gets to taste and vote. You can pair up or do individual items, everyone make a cake, or some make dinner, dessert, or sides..... whatever you want. If you don't have the time to make several cakes or don't want that much cake lying around constantly tempting you, then turn it into a cake decorating or cupcake decorating contest.
The best part about this is that you can make it as simple or complex as you want... an all day project of baking cakes or making a 3 course dinner meal... or pre-bake some cupcake and simply have the family decorate them. But either way... you get to enjoy some delicious goodness at the end.
