Not So Deep Thoughts

Well, after this week being a fairly tough one for both Lucy and I (we think Lucy is teething…hence the behavior issues) I needed a pick me up. I don’t know how many of you have watch the show “Saturday Night Live”, but there use to be a skit with odd inspirational quotes or random thought by a man named Jack Handey…and well…if you haven’t read them before enjoy…they make me chuckle always!

1. Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, you'll be a mile from them, and you'll have their shoes.

2. I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

3. To me, it's a good idea to always carry two sacks of something when you walk around. That way, if anybody says, "Hey, can you give me a hand?" You can say, "Sorry, got these sacks."

4. If you ever catch on fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because I bet that's what REALLY throws you into a panic.

5. Maybe in order to understand mankind we have to look at that word itself. MANKIND. Basically, it's made up of two separate words "mank" and "ind." What do these words mean? It's a mystery and so is mankind.
6. If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

7. If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him "Probably because of something you did."

8. It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

  3. I love Jack Handey! I quote him all the time "Consider for a moment the sunflower...and while you're doing that I'll be over here going through your stuff."

  5. I loved these! I immediately turned to my husband and said, "Hey, you wanna hear a deep thought?" Then I quoted #1. He thought it was very deep!

Thanks for commenting on my blog! I, of course, had to rush right over and lurk all over your blog :) That little Lucy is scrumptious! I had to watch the video clip of her being cleaned off right after being born. *sniff* *sniff* so, so sweet!

So are you Katie's friend? I love Katie! I think she is a supermodel and her husband is a male model but she denies it.

  6. I love these. One of my favorite Deeo Thoughts is:
"Isn't it sad that a family can be torn apart by something as simple as a pack of wild dogs?"

  19. You will pass your evil sense of humor on to your daughter, and then she will use it on you when you are angry, and you will be really upset with yourself.

It happens to me every day!
