Costume Party!

My husband and I were coming home from my sister Carinne's house the other night. We had just gotten done getting our butts handed to us while playing Catan. But even though we lost, we both were in real good moods. We were talking about how even though my parents have moved to India for the next few years and we miss them, it has really brought us siblings together in a new way.

Me - "That was really fun tonight, I have loved hanging out with them and getting to know them more."

Curtis - "Yea, they're all fun, I'm glad we have moved here."

Me - "Even though I can't wait for mom and dad to come home, having them gone has been kind of a blessing, helping us getting to know the other siblings better. With them being gone we hang out a lot more with the brothers and sisters then we use to."

Curtis - "Well, then we better hurry up and get our disguises"

Me - Ehh? Disguises?

Curtis - "Well, yea...we are going to need disguises for the whole blessing in disguise situation that is going on. Duh!?

Please feel free to insert your cheesy chuckle here, I know I did!

And for all of you that have been waiting for the winner of the give-away, we have picked the winner. Or I should say...we let Lucy pick the winner! The winner is.........

Michelle Richards from http://therichardses.blogspot.com/ . She actually is a friend of Curtis and I. We know her from back in Provo, UT. She lived in the same apartment complex that we lived in where Curtis and I first met. So here is a slice of Michelle...

"I'm from Toronto, Canada via England, so I talk rather strangely. A nice blend of British, Canadian, and American accent. My husband, Brandon, is from Moscow...Idaho (I still think it's funny to just leave it at Moscow). We've been married for just over a year and a half, met almost 3 years ago living in the same complex. I liked him from the start, but he didn't realize he liked me back until I was dating someone else...someone younger who was more muscular, but I went for funny rather than muscles.

I graduated with my BA in Advertising, he graduates with a BS in Exercise Science next month and he's just been accepted to Physical Therapy school in Las Vegas, where I will most likely become a showgirl or professional hustler, I'll keep you posted of that. (For those of you who may not know me, I'm actually quite an honest individual and the closest I'll ever get to professional hustling will be playing Solitaire in my cubicle at your average, everyday desk job).

Just some firsts for me: I just donated 12 inches of my hair for the very first time and I am not adjusting well; being English, I just saw the "American classic" Back to the Future & Indiana Jones trilogies for the first time last year, and I don't recall ever winning anything of consequence before, so I am thrilled! THANKS MELISSA!"

Congrats Michelle! And for all of you that didn't win, I will be doing another give-away this Wednesday...what can I say...I am totally lovin' these give-aways!

  7. Very happy for you that you are able to spend quality time with your siblings. My sisters both live within 5 minutes walk from us, and my parents and our backyard back onto each other. I couldn't imagine living far away from any of them :)
