Shredded BBQ - Slow Cooker

I know summer is almost at an end and this is the time of year where I am tempted to start hot gluing the leaves to trees, but you can still hang onto a little piece of summer with this incredible slow cooked picnic BBQ. All you need is...

  • 1 (3 lbs.) Boneless Beef chuck roast
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 (18 ounce) bottle of BBQ sauce

1. Place roast into slow cooker. Sprinkle a few dashes of garlic and onion powder onto the roast and then season with salt and pepper. Pour BBQ sauce over meat.

2. Cook on slow for 6-8 hours. Pull the roast out of the cooker, shred it, and place back in the cooker for 1 hour.

This is seriously one of the best recipes I have tried in a while. Curtis went crazy over it, probably the best reaction I have had from him with any of my recipes. Heck, look at the picture... you can see him joking around while enjoying it... well actually... don't look.... it is a little disturbing :).

You can use the meat with buns like a Sloppy Joe or place it over rice and serve with veggies as we did. Both really good, but I actually think I liked it better over rice. If you come up with better things to serve it with, let me know... I would love to hear your suggestions. :)

  9. May sound stupid, but is that a beef roast or a pork roast?

I have a ton of beef roasts I need to figure out what to do with because we got 1/4 cow for Christmas and have used up all the steaks and lots of the ground beef, but not much of the roasts.

    KEEP BELIEVING

  22. My mother-in-law makes this. And if you like a bit of spice to your food you an do the hot and spicy plus original, we like to use 2 different kinds of bbq saue...also.. I'm not a big pot roast fan (its just fatty) so I buy the deli sandwhih meat (roast beef) instead of the big pot roast.. it works great, less time even cause all u have to do is warm it up...just a few side quick sugestions!
